Boys Development Academy ID Sessions  

 

 

The Washington Timbers are holding FREE ID sessions to provide opportunities for elite male players in the 2005-2008 age groups to be identified for potential inclusion in the Washington Timbers FC U.S. Soccer Development Academy Program. The sessions are open to all players regardless of club affiliation.  

The sessions are all at Harmony Sports Complex on turf field 7. The dates are April 13th, 20th, and 27th.


Players born in 2007 and 2008: 5:30-6:45pm
Players born in 2005 and 2006: 6:45-8:00pm

US Soccer Development Academy

Purpose:

To provide the best environment for dedicated, high performance youth soccer players to achieve long term individual development goals with a team of likeminded teammates, training staff, and families.

Who is it for:

  • Players born in 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008, and whose technical, tactical, physical, and/or psychological traits demonstrate the potential to succeed on the Washington Timbers FC high performance long term athlete development plan.
  • Players and families dedicated to a 46-week, annual season.

Benefits:

Focused training planned to maximize technical and tactical development without sacrificing physical health or the love for the game.

  • Meaningful US Soccer Development Academy league competition against the top clubs in Oregon.
  • Comprehensive training and game calendar with mandatory breaks to allow for family events, encourage participation in other sports, and provide a mental break from soccer.
  • Consistent exposure to top level coaches, teammates, opponents, and USSF National Team Scouts.

Competition:

DA Players are registered to the US Soccer Federation and may only compete in the US Soccer Development Academy league unless otherwise approved by US Soccer.

U12 DA (2007/2008):

  • US Soccer U12 Development Academy - Oregon league
  • 20-24 game season - home and away games vs. local opponents.
  • 9v9, 30 minute halves, 1 referee.
  • Pacific Northwest DA Futsal Showcase event in Portland, OR.
  • No posted scores, standings, or post-season play.
  • Minimal substitutions during games and 50% guaranteed playing time per season for every rostered player actively participating in training.
  • Player pool: 11-13 full time players; 2-5 developmental players.

U13 DA (2006):

  • US Soccer U13 Development Academy - Oregon League
  • 24-30 game season - home and away games vs. local opponents; potential competition vs. Seattle opponents
  • 11v11, 35 minute halves, 3 referees
  • West Regional Showcase event in San Diego, CA
  • No standings or post-season play
  • Minimal substitutions during games and 50% guaranteed playing time per season for every rostered player.
  • Player pool: 15-18 full time players; 2-5 developmental players

U14 DA (2005):

  • US Soccer U14 Development Academy - Oregon league
  • 20-24 game season - home and away games vs. local opponents; potential competition vs. Seattle opponents
  • 11v11, 40 minute halves, 3 referees
  • West Regional Showcase event in Oceanside, CA
  • No standings or post-season play
  • Limited substitutions with no re-entry during games. 25% starts and 50% playing time per season guaranteed for every rostered player actively participating in training.
  • International training and competition.
  • Player pool: 15-18 full time players; 2-5 developmental players.
